Hands On Charlotte is excited to be conducting our first annual "Building on The Dream" volunteer event during the MLK Holiday weekend. Projects spread throughout the weekend will focus on the needs of Charlotte's challenged communities, and activate hundreds of volunteers who will use community service to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, who once said "We can all be great, because we can all serve."
There will be a special kickoff celebration on Saturday the 19th in the Belmont neighborhood to kickoff the service projects, which will take place both on Saturday and on the King Holiday on Monday. Projects will range from sorting donations of food and clothing to beautifying parks located in low-resource neighborhoods to helping renovate houses for elderly residents of the Belmont neighborhood.
