VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION PROGRAM
Volunteers are at the center of everything Hands On Charlotte achieves, so it's only fitting that we make an effort to recognize our volunteers for all their work in the community. We do this through our Volunteer Recognition Program.

The program has three parts, and each part honors our volunteers in a different way. The three initiatives are the Service Award, the Appreciation Award, and Volunteer Appreciation Events.

THE SERVICE AWARD
The Service Award recognizes volunteers who contribute a certain amount of hours during a calendar year (i.e., January through December) at Hands On Charlotte projects. At the end of every quarter, we tabulate the number of hours for each HOC volunteer and give awards to those who have reached certain milestones:

- Service Star is awarded when a volunteer reaches 20 hours
- All Star is awarded when a volunteer reaches 35 hours
- Super Star is awarded to volunteers who reach 50 hours of service
Each volunteer who reaches one of these thresholds will receive a gift as a token of HOC's appreciation.

THE APPRECIATION AWARD
This award is also given out on a quarterly basis, and recognizes a volunteer who has gone above and beyond in helping the community. Nominations for this award are made by HOC staff, Project Coordinators, partner agency representatives and committee chairpeople. The winner is selected by the HOC Volunteer Council.

Would you like to nominate a Hands On Charlotte volunteer to receive the Appreciation Award? If so, click HERE to reach our online nomination form.

The winner of the Appreciation Award will receive a small trophy.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION EVENTS
Not every HOC volunteer is able to earn a Service Award or an Appreciation Award, but everyone can participate in our Volunteer Appreciation Events. These are social gatherings held at local establishments, and volunteers will be able to receive special discounts. Information about upcoming Volunteer Appreciation Events will be posted here shortly, so stay tuned for details.
