Paying Tribute through Service
Our nation’s extraordinary response to the Sept. 11 tragedy demonstrated that compassion for those in need is a powerful and unifying force.
To commemorate the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Hands On Charlotte is proud to present the 20th edition of Hands On Charlotte Day on Saturday, September 15. Through this event, we will create opportunities for hundreds of people in the Charlotte region to pay tribute through charitable service, and thereby to recreate the spirit of community and selflessness that strengthened our nation at a crucial time.
By scheduling our event to coincide with September 11, HOC is part of a national effort to observe 9/11 through community outreach and service. You can learn more about that national effort by visiting www.911day.org.
HOC Day volunteer projects will take place on Saturday morning, September 15, at the following sites:
- Lebanon Road Elementary School (near Mint Hill)
- University Meadows Elementary School (northeast Charlotte)
- Nations Ford Road Elementary School (south Charlotte)
- Crisis Assistance Ministry (uptown Charlotte)
