Food, music & FUN! For the eighth consecutive year, Hands on Charlotte will be helping out at the Time Warner Cable BBQ & Blues competition and festival, which takes place on Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th, from Trade & Tryon to South Tryon & Stonewall in Center City Charlotte. Those who have volunteered with HOC for this event in the past will tell you that it’s one of the most fun volunteer projects we offer at HOC! Our volunteers will be signing up for the following committees: - Competition Committee
- Headquarters Committee
- Judging Committee
- Judging/Set-Up Committee
- Programming Committee
- Production & Logistics Committee
- Recycling Committee
Or, you can sign up to work at one of the beverage tents that HOC will be staffing that weekend. BBQ & Blues takes place September 10th 11th, 2010 in Uptown Charlotte! Approximately 70 teams compete for over $20,000 in prizes and supreme bragging rights. Teams decorate their areas with elaborate decoration, pig trophies added to their booths, and as one can imagine, clever and creative team names. While the BBQ competition is the main theme there is also a pigtastic festival taking place Friday & Saturday. Blues music, an array of beer samples, and some of the best barbecue you will find anywhere is one of the many reasons to check out BBQ & Blues! This festival celebrates the best of the southern cuisine and southern music. Food, music, entertainment and more!
