HELPS Fluency Intervention Tutor (18+)
HELPS (Helping Early Literacy with Practice Strategies) is an evidence-based literacy intervention to improve children's fluency and reading comprehension skills. This highly scripted intervention can be used by trained volunteer tutors to improve children's reading fluency.
Volunteers commit to one hour per week for the school year after completing a 3-hour training. Tutors will work with 3 students each week for about 15 to 20 minutes each. All volunteers will need to pass the CMS background check.
Volunteers choose a 1-hour tutoring session Mon - Fri. Tutoring times vary by school. Volunteers can select the school location, day and time that works best for their schedules.
